House P is one of the most remarkably designed house by Caramel Architekten in Klosterneuburg, Austria. With its unique location House P seems to be looking down from its high perch at the valley below in Klosterneuburg. Unique design of House P is enhanced even more by the use of prefabricated concrete elements in the house’s façade. The entrance from the street side passes through the garage and terrace, through the dining room/kitchen area, cloak room and stairway landing and out to the front of the living room. The living room looks out to the picturesque views of the Danubian plains.
The house design has a longitudinal axis structure. The length of the home building is intercepted by obliquely positioned pool. At the lower garden area level House P has a couple of well-fitted bathrooms, a sauna, a small studio that opens out in the beautiful garden. From across the studio on the other side of the terrace is the cellar. Th ecellar utilizes the space underneath the garage.
On the basis of the orientation of the house, the façade could be wither open or hermetic. The west side of the house that has dining room/kitchen and terrace looks out onto the pool and garden area. The east side faces nearby neighbors but is completely shut off. While contrastingly the north side of the façade is open and views the breathtaking valley. This design is even more enhanced by the glazing on the façade which also extends overhead to integrate with the roof.
