Losing the Post Ideas

The last time I remember, I was full of ideas to post on the blog, but this technical problem aroused so I just lost my eager to write about it. My connection went down the entire day, so I couldn’t make a single post. Actually I could write them on the Microsoft Word, but furthermore I needed to lookup for more articles to complete the post.

Usually I went to the internet shop to have another access, but this time it was fully overcrowded, so there’s no chance for me to use their service. I passed by a café which I know that they’re available for the hot spot area. Unfortunately, I have no portable gadgets such as notebook or PDA to access them.

I tried to contact my ISP and being promised that their connection would be established within 24 hours. There is irregular maintenance to one of their cable; they said they’re being replaced, and the downtime should be not more than a day.

I hope so, because I need to search for more design references. But still, I lost the post ideas.

The Conspiracy Theory

The time was at high noon when James called through my cell phone. He said that he found something that I might interested. And it does. As I was burglarized a week ago, having updates about the story won’t make me think twice to catch them as soon as possible.

James started his new found items from my backyard which is the near my kitchen window where the thief broke in. What he found was a PVC card which sized two third from American Express card. The card is colored in blue and a code inscribed BBNFEGWB.

[Do you feel like familiar with this kind of code? You got it! It’s something like Amazon’s ASIN code but I think it’s not gonna make me earn an affiliate commission or something like that]

I have no idea what this card for. I never saw it before, and I’m surely convinced that the card wasn’t at my backyard until the thief came in.

And our biggest assumption is that the thief has a strong connection with this mysterious card.

Some Tips to Leave Your Home Safe While You’re Away

This is an example story which is still talking about home safety. You know, burglary is a crime of opportunity and to avoid them, the chance is minimizing any opportunities which might occur. In other words, if you want to build a good mousetrap, than you must think better than a mouse.

The first thing a robber will wanna know is if anyone is home. Generally, burglars don’t target houses that appear occupied. For such reasons, if you have a mailbox in front of your house, take your name off that. Also your names in front of your door, in which cases can tell who owns the house.

With such informations [your names and address], a burglar can easily browse through a phone book or call for information to get your phone number. All they have to do is call your home number and check whether someone answers. Some thieves which are bolder, could ring the doorbell to check whether it’s occupied or not. For them you can create lived-in sound effects by connecting a timer to a radio or TV.

Maybe, you can take lesson form Macaulay Culkin to decoy two burglars whose tried to rob the house while the family away.

How Safe Is Your Home?

You can guess what I’m gonna talking about, don’t you? At the time I know that somebody ransacked my house, I tried to search the entire building to notice where those crooks got in. And the answer gone to the window on the kitchen which was not safely secured. The police who went after, also gave the similar conclusion.

The burglars broke the window with simple efforts, got in, search things, and went out from the front door. That easy.

And the guys from Thief episode does make clearance for burglaries that might occur in our neighborhood. As the security systems are improved, bad guys are gone better at the same time.

The most simple ways to secure your home is installing serious locks. This could be the deadbolts which should be extend at least one inch into the door jamb, to keep thieves from kicking them in. Just like my kitchen window.

If have safe, bolt it to the floor, otherwise the thief can easily pick it up and carry it out.

Better Check Your Doors and Windows Or…

If you ever heard stories about man whose gone camping and found that his home burglarized at the time he went back, then unfortunately I’ve become one of such stories. I left my house for two days and it has already ruined by act of burglars.

How much did I lost? I think it’s my BMX bike, $215 cash, and a pair of Rayban sunglasses which Suzy gave me last summer. I don’t know how much it priced, but a gift should be kept safely, isn’t it?

The better part of this accident is that I didn’t left my notebook at home while I’m away, so the burglar have no chance to took it also. My cousin, Curtis, borrowed it as I’m packing up before we went on camping. His PC was temporary in trouble, so he came and asked me whether I could lend him my notebook to finish his weekend homework.

I wish Curtis keep it safe because all my projects are stored in the notebook. Including the Clarke’s design.

James Discover My House through Google Earth

The Bourne Ultimatum has gone to watch for a month ago and it left me with some sense of espionage and secret agencies. And our mechanic man reminded me back onto that movie when he showed his discovery through Google Earth web application.

He showed me my blue roofed house with its backyards from the view of a satellite. Being viewed from 1,000 ft brought me to another vantage point that has never been experienced before. I could clearly see that my entire surroundings are flat areas that split to blocks and lines, creating several patterns that make people follow those patterns to do their activities.

By that height view, I discover that the distance from our neighborhood and the town center is nearly only two blocks, but in the order of the patterns, people should make their trip longer to the town center because there’s no pathway that leads directly there. I wish that someday they build a shortcut.

I saw some strange pattern across my backyards. I haven’t wondered about what that is, until now.

New Year, New Home, New Opportunities

I’m moving to a new house just 3 days ago. I feel so great that I could move here nearly as the new year’s eve. At first, I could easily count how many years I would have spend in this house. I also can remember when should I pay for the house’s annual tax. The last one always got me pay the fine for overdue.

The next thing I like is that I could arrange a new year’s eve party on my own house. It’s what I’ve been longing from previous years. Spend the time all night long on the backyard with my mates while spelling the countdown and finally watch the fireworks show on the sky. Amazing.

My previous dwell wasn’t as good as now. In another word, too small. You know, my friends usually hung up around with me and when we started to think about a place to watch a DVD while having beers, then it was out of reality.

Another thing, I hope the house will bring me more luck. Some Chinese do rants about what they called as FengShui.
